We are not currently accepting applications.

If you’ve already applied, no need to fill out the form again. However, in order to remain on our wait list, you must renew your membership application from February 1st to February 28th every year.
 
Please set yourself a reminder to email your updated information to: membership@vaneast.org 
Please include the following information:
  • Date of original application
  • Updated contact info
  • Any changes in household size

Application Renewal FAQs

How do I renew my co-op application?

Please send an email to membership@vaneast.org. To assist our volunteers who do the record-keeping, please have the person who filled out the application email us from the address they provided in the original application.

What information should I include when renewing my application?

Please include any changes to household size, such as if you have recently welcomed a new child or have moved in with someone who would be moving into a co-op unit with you. Please also include any changes to contact information (e.g. new email address or telephone number). If you like, you are also welcome to re-answer the original application questions, such as if you have undertaken new volunteer work or would be interested in a different committee.

What information should I not include when renewing my application?

Please do not send us personal information such as income, health conditions, or current employment information. We do not consider this information when deciding who to interview.

I would like to re-answer the application questions. What were they again?

The original application consisted of three questions:
1) Why do you want to live in a co-op?
2) Where have you volunteered and/or how have you contributed to your community?
3) We require all members to be on a committee. These are our committees; Maintenance,
Landscaping, Social, Policy, Education, Membership and the Board of Directors – which
committee do you think you would be interested in?

If you like, you are welcome to re-answer these questions if you have new information for us. Re-
answering the questions is not required.

When are application renewals due?

Applications need to be renewed once a year. For 2026 only, we are accepting renewals until March 15th. From 2027 onward, we will accept renewals from Feb 1-28 only.
